Did you grow up surrounded by creativity?
Did you have the support to explore your artistic side?
Not everyone does, but here's the good news: it’s never too late to find a mentor or discover a creative community to nurture your talents.
Whether you’ve been discouraged in the past or simply didn’t have the opportunity to explore the arts, today can be the day you start something new.
I was fortunate to grow up in a creative household, with my dad in the arts, as his profession. Both of my parents were creative in their own way and encouraged me to explore my artistic interests.
I had access to endless art supplies and was always given new things to try and master.
But that’s not the case for everyone.
Many people face negativity from family, friends, or teachers about their creative pursuits.
If that’s been your experience, I want to encourage you: it’s never too late to start your creative journey.
There’s always a chance to find someone who can support or inspire you.
Look around - there are countless artists and creators who began their journeys later in life or overcame challenges greater than yours.
Their stories can motivate and remind you that it’s always possible to start fresh.
My entire career has been built on the joy of creating and sharing that experience with others.
I want to inspire you to create, too.
Even if you didn’t grow up in an environment that fostered creativity, you can build that for yourself now.
The world is smaller thanks to social media, where you can find your people, artists, authors, and creators of all kinds.
Engage with them, ask questions, comment on their work, build a real connection. In this unprecedented time of “access”, use it.
Many artists, like me, are generous with their information and resources.
We want to share what we know because creativity is endless, and the more we share, the more we all gain.
If you're stuck or don't know where to begin, I’m here to help.
Whether you’re exploring creativity as a way to overcome personal challenges, such as addiction or mental health struggles, or just want a new outlet for joy and expression, creativity can bring you so much more than you ever imagined.
You can start simple and experiment.
For example, if you’re drawn to painting, but watercolors feel too unforgiving, try acrylics or oils.
You can also change what you paint on. Try paper, canvas, wood, glass, or even furniture.
Maybe crochet speaks to you, but not traditional crochet. There is also freeform crochet, 3D crochet, or even using unconventional materials like ribbon, metal or beads. You could crochet tiny or large or even change up the subject matter to make it suit you.
Every craft has endless variations, and you can tailor it to your own style and preferences.
In my upcoming book (launching soon!), I dive deeper into how to find a creative hobby that works for you and ways to customize it.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to creativity, and part of the fun is figuring out what resonates with you.
The options are limitless, and the joy that comes from creative expression is truly transformative.

I’d love to be your creative cheerleader.
Whether you need inspiration, encouragement, or just a place to start, I’m here for you.
